Pure Dance, the independent station that became a household name on Sky Digital in the mid-2000s, is returning to the airwaves this September with launches on small-scale DAB in Milton Keynes and Loughborough, alongside continued online streaming via TuneIn, Radioplayer and smart speakers.<\/p>\n\n
First launched in 2004, Pure Dance quickly established itself as a leading destination for club culture, reaching close to a million monthly listeners and working with major labels on launches and campaigns. It was home to names including Stu Allan, Slipmatt, Lisa Lashes and Matt Darey, and built a loyal following before going off-air in 2006.<\/p>\n\n
“The end of Pure Dance always felt like unfinished business,” said founder Alex Kinch. “What started as us uploading archive shows turned into a full rebuild. Dance music deserves specialist radio made by people who live and breathe it - that’s what we’re bringing back.”<\/p>\n\n
The new line-up combines returning legends with global names and emerging talent. Confirmed shows include Paul Van Dyk, Above & Beyond, R3HAB, Nicky Romero, MK, Defected and Toolroom Radio, plus specialist programming from Slipmatt, Solarstone, Tube & Berger, Reb\u016bke, Laura van Dam, Anjunadeep, He.She.They and more. Flagship shows Pure Anthems and Non-Stop Pure Dance return, alongside the revival of UDJ - the station’s platform for showcasing new DJs.<\/p>\n\n
