The beats never stopped. They just took a break.

Pure Dance first launched in the early 2000s — across the UK on Sky channel 890, and online via Windows Media Audio, RealPlayer and mp3PRO. (If you know, you know.) Back then we were right at the cutting edge of satellite and online radio:trance, house, hardcore and club music, 24/7.

The line-up? Legendary. Stu Allan. Slipmatt. Lisa Lashes. Billy 'Daniel' Bunter. Agnelli & Nelson. Matt Darey. AJ Gibson. Warp Brothers. Warren Street. Dan Wood. The names that built the Pure Dance legacy - no gimmicks, just proper dance music.

By 2005, nearly a million people were tuning in every month. But satellite bills stack up fast, and by early 2006 Pure Dance had gone quiet and slipped off the Sky guide.

The Return (Midlife Crisis Edition)

In 2024, Pure Dance returned - first with a quiet upload of old archive shows… then we accidentally relaunched a whole radio station. Older, greyer, and definitely not wiser, we rebuilt the whole thing from the ground up - and we’re only just getting started.

Now? We’re online, on smart speakers (when Alexa’s in the mood), in your car, on your phone, and on DAB - back to doing what we do best: huge dance tunes, non-stop.

We've brought Slipmatt back. We've added heavyweights like Paul van Dyk, Above & Beyond, Toolroom, R3HAB, Nicky Romero, Defected and Don Diablo. We're still spinning the classics on Pure Anthems, and still smashing through the big ones on Non-Stop Pure Dance.

More shows keep landing - Enhanced Sessions, The Anjunadeep Edition, REBŪKE, and our own Milton Keynes crew, the UltraVegas family. We've even let the presenters back into the studio - Sean Maynard on weekends (twice on Saturdays because we're working him hard) and Gary B firing up Friday nights. We're keeping an eye on them.
